Players unlock the Alchemy Whip near the start of Vampire Survivors: Ode to Castlevania alongside Leon. By following our guide, you can easily evolve it into the powerful Vampire Killer and burn any boss that stands in your way to a crisp.
How do I evolve the Alchemy Whip in Vampire Survivors: Ode to Castlevania?
The Alchemy Whip evolves into the Vampire Killer when combined with Tirajisú at maximum level in Vampire Survivors: Ode to Castlevania. Open a treasure chest with both items fully upgraded to receive the Vampire Killer.
The most painless way to evolve the Vampire Killer for the first time is to play as Leon Belmont in Ode to Castlevania. Leon’s starting weapon is the Alchemy Whip, and finding Tirajisú is straightforward with the Castlevania Map. If you don’t have the area map yet, follow the green arrow to pick it up.
An even easier method is using the VIII – Mad Groove Arcana to pull the Tirajisú straight toward you. Focus on leveling only the Alchemy Whip and Tirajisú as you make your way through the stage. Make sure to limit yourself to 1 weapon in the menu before jumping in.
For fellow VS veterans, you can simply load Leon up with tons of Golden Eggs and enter a regular stage. Reroll until you land on Tirajisú, or use Arma Dio to select it directly. Although I would recommend going down the Ode to Castlevania route to obtain the Vampire Killer so that you can unlock Trevor simultaneously.
What does the Vampire Killer do?
Considering that Vampire Survivors doesn’t actually feature any vampires, the Vampire Killer does not do what the name suggests. What it does do, however, is automatically damage boss enemies with a beam of sunlight. It also deals more damage than the Alchemy Whip and fires additional projectiles.
Leon also receives a bonus to most of his stats when using Vampire Killer, making him one of the best early-game characters for killing bosses in Ode to Castlevania.
Vampire Survivors and the Ode to Castlevania DLC are available on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and mobile devices.
