How Do I Unlock Leon in Vampire Survivors: Ode to Castlevania?

Leon Belmont is unlocked in Vampire Survivors by finding the first coffin in Ode to Castlevania — the stage included in the DLC of the same name. Firstly, pick any character and jump into the Ode to Castlevania stage. If you haven’t already done so, follow the green arrow to pick up the Castlevania Map.

Head east to the drawbridge leading to the castle, but don’t enter it. Instead, step back a few spaces and head north toward the question mark on your map to find Leon Belmont’s coffin.

Like every other stage in Vampire Survivors, the coffin won’t open until you defeat the enemies surrounding it. Show them who’s boss, then step on the coffin to open it and unlock Leon Belmont! If you aren’t strong enough to defeat the surrounding enemies, you can return once you’ve gathered a few more weapons.

Once Leon’s coffin has been opened, you can continue your run or safely quit to the main menu. As long as the animation has played, Leon will be available on the character select screen immediately.

Leon Belmont Character Weapon and Passive Bonus

Full Name: Leon Belmont
Weapon: Alchemy Whip
Passive Bonus: Receives a hidden Svarog Statue at Level 5. Gets a bonus to most stats when Vampire Killer is equipped. Can find special pickups.
Initial Stats: 120 Max Health, +1 Armor, +1 Revival, +5 Reroll

Leon Belmont’s weapon is the Alchemy Whip, which thwacks enemies in a straight line, followed by diagonal hits. The Alchemy Whip increases in power every time a boss enemy is defeated and grants bonus stats when evolved into the Vampire Killer.

Surviving with Leon for six minutes unlocks the Alchemy Whip for all characters, and defeating the Giant Medusa Head as him unlocks Trevor Belmont.

The number of bosses in Ode to Castlevania, combined with an easy evolution, makes Leon the perfect character to start your journey to unlocking the rest of the Belmonts and beyond.

Vampire Survivors and the Ode to Castlevania DLC are available on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and mobile devices.
