After promising a localization fix for the substandard quality of Ys VIII when it released, NIS America released the patch and it is now available to download on PS4 and PS Vita.

The patch applies for basically every part of the game from the script to item names, terminology, monster names, graphical text, and complete with a full re-recording of voiced dialogue.

Those of you on PS4 can download the 1.16 GB patch now. Meanwhile, the PS Vita version is also available for a smaller 279 MB. For those of you wondering about the PC release, NIS America recently delayed it to an undetermined date, so we’ll have to wait a little longer for more information.

As for the Nintendo Switch version of Ys VIII, which is slated for release sometime in Summer 2018, NIS America announced during a localization patch launch live stream that it will come packaged with the localization patch in the cartridge, so those of you going for the Switch version won’t have to worry about downloading it on the side.

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana is available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. The Switch version releases in Summer 2018. The PC version’s release date will be announced later.
