Almost everything is getting a DS remake, so why not Ys? Instead of drafting Falcom to work on the Ys remakes they are being helmed by Interchannel who usually makes PS2 dating sims. The game is being modernized, for instance Adol actually swings his sword instead of dashing into enemies. Revolutionary!

The downside is Ys and Ys II are being sold as separate games instead of the being bundled together like in Ys Books I & II. Hudson released Ys Books I & II on the virtual console for the very reasonable price of 800 Wii Points ($8). However, new dungeons, upgraded graphics and wireless multiplayer might make the remakes worth a look despite the significantly higher price tag.
