A lot about Ys IX : Monstrum Nox still remains a mystery as we’ve yet to even get a look at Adol, but the latest issue of Dengeki PlayStation shared some more teasers, including info on three playable characters. [Thanks, Ryokutya2089.]

The magazine shows what appears to be three playable characters. However, their names and information still remain unknown.

One of them is a blond man with a dual-wielding style. Falcom shared a new screenshot which you can see above, and it appears to be the character fitting his description. The second character is described a silver-haired woman with nekomimi (cat ears). Lastly, Ryokutya describes the third character as a black-haired young man who looks like a Tales of character.

Here are some more tidbits:

  • It is also noted that there seems to be some kind of meaning behind the colors of the character outfits.

  • The “Nox” in the title is a crucial point.

  • With it meaning night, its concept is part of the gameplay system.

You can get a peek at the magazine with a teaser scan showing Barduke,  a giant city known as “Prison City” located in the northeastern part of Esteria in the Gllia Erdlingen region.

The left page on the above teaser has information on its battle system. It appears to show the same screenshot Falcom shared with the dual-wielding man with a swarm of bats.

Ys IX: Monstrum Nox releases for PlayStation 4 in Japan in 2019. New footage is expected to be revealed during the Dengeki Game Festival 2019 on March 24.
