QuakeCon 2020 is happening right now. Like many companies, Bethesda opted for the con-at-home approach. Tango Gameworks Founder Shinji Mikami was there with a very special message. You can pet all the Ghostwire Tokyo dogs you meet in the game.
The video segment for Ghostwire Tokyo was rather brief and had Mikami speaking while footage from the game was shown. He set up the announcement by making it seem like something revolutionary would be coming to the game and said, “In the meantime, we are working hard to make this game even more cool and unique.”
It was then that he revealed the “important announcement.” After much hype, Mikami said, “In Ghostwire Tokyo, you’ll be able to pet the dog.”
You can skip to the one minute mark in the Ghostwire Tokyo dog trailer to see first-person Shiba Inu petting.
This is one of the more lighthearted Ghostwire Tokyo trailer shared so far. In June 2020 footage, we saw some of the ghostly Visitors that are invading Tokyo and need to be fought. People will need to perform Kuji-kiri sorts of hand gestures to unleash the sorts of magic capable of defeating the hostile invasion.
Ghostwire Tokyo is in development for the PlayStation 5 and PC. It will launch on both platforms in 2021.
