NieR series director and writer Yoko Taro never takes the year-end ambitions quotes seriously, but he always has something amusing to share that makes us wonder what he could be up to next.
Here are his quotes from the year-end talk with Japanese developers in this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine:
Yoko Taro
Keyword for 2019: We’ll always be together?
Yoko Taro: “NieR: Automata which released in 2017 became a hit and I got plenty of work because of its aftermath, but that won’t last forever. Therefore, I believe my downfall will start around 2019, and since it would be lonely to die alone, I’m going to try taking down as many people with me.”
Recent Report: “I feel like there was something, but I forget.”
Entertainment or other things to pay attention to in 2019: “I’m looking forward to a new title that Fumito Ueda is working on, and the release of Hiroshi Iuchi-san’s Ubusuna. There was a god that declared ‘Neither of their work will release in 2019,’ but that god was a malevolent god, so I destroyed him!”
