Yian Kut-Ku Returns in Monster Hunter Wilds

Capcom shared the Monster Hunter Wilds Extended Kut trailer at Tokyo Game Show 2024, so named because the returning Yian Kut-Ku steals the show at the end. There’s also an overview of what it is like to be a hunter for the guild and explore different environments.

The first part of the video might look familiar. This is because it is the traditional fourth trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds. We see an introduction to the hub and exploration party. The new Scarlet Forest region is highlighted, which is one of the locations we’ll stop by. It’s the featured reveal for this event.

At the 2:50 mark, after the logo drop, we see the new content. A whole flock of Yian Kut-Ku appear in Monster Hunter Wilds at this point. You can check them out in the video below:

Yian Kut-Ku has been a part of Monster Hunter since the first game debuted in 2004 on the PS2. It returned in multiple mainline entries, though it was absent in Monster Hunter Rise and World. It also showed up in multiple spin-off installments, and it is a staple in the Monster Hunter Stories series. In addition to the standard version, a Blue variant also exists.

Monster Hunter Wilds will come to the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on February 28, 2025. People who pre-order get the Guild Knight Set layered armor and Hope Charm.
