Yakuza 2 sticks with Japanese voices

The folks over at Sega Nerds directed me to the Yakuza 2 page which confirms Sega isn’t hiring Hollywood actors. Yakuza 2 will retain the original Japanese voice acting with English subtitles. This is a first in North American PlayStation history where all other games have English voices no matter how awkward or awful they may be.

Sony’s revised laissez-faire policy towards third party PlayStation 2 games is opening doors for games that would otherwise stay in Japan. I wonder if Shining Dragon will retain the original voices and if there is any room to squeak in a marginally localized version of Super Robot Taisen Original Generations before retailers stop carrying PlayStation 2 games.
