Ackk Studios has released an E3 trailer and new screenshots for its “post-modern RPG” Y2K. Trying to summarize what happens in the trailer may be futile so watching it is your best bet.

Y2K takes place during the 1990s and plays on that decades encroaching fears and distrust of technology. You may have guessed that it’s title alludes to the millennium bug, and if you did, you were right. The game’s plot riffs on strange conspiracies and predictions such as that.

You play as Alex Eggleston as he reunites with his friends and chases down a mysterious blue van that internet communities refer to as the “Death Van.” As well exploration and dialogue, the game features puzzles to solve and turn-based combat, all of it laced in the kind of strange scenes you can see in the trailer.

Y2K is in development for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Wii U. You can find out more about it in Siliconera’s interview with the creators. You can see the new screenshots above and below.
