Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition will have a new Time Attack mode that was recently detailed by Monolith Soft and Nintendo.

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition Time Attack mode

As the name suggests, Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition‘s Time Attack mode is a new mode about defeating monsters as quickly as possible. The glowing light shown in the above screenshot is an entrance for Time Attack mode.

After stepping into the light,  you’ll encounter a Nopon Archsage. Talk to him to select various challenges. You’ll unlock more Time Attack challenges by progressing through the main story. There are two options for the challenges: the “Free” challenges let you put together a party any way you want while the “Limited” challenges have conditions such as level restrictions and fixed party members.

The Time Attack starts once you select a challenge. From there, you fight waves of monsters until it ends.

Once completed, an evaluation screen will rate you based on clear time and battle content. You’ll receive Noponstone based on the score.

Similar to Xenoblade Chronicles 2, the Noponstone acquired from Time Attack can be exchanged for various equipment and Gems at the Noponstone Exchange. These will surely come in handy for your adventure, so they suggest taking on these challenges for the gear.
