Through the Advanced Settings, you can stock all the EXP gained in your journey and adjust all character levels. By having control of character levels, you can delevel them at any time in order to give yourself a bigger challenge. This also means that players who wish to explore areas without getting over-leveled will get to keep things under control.

Leveling up requires EXP as usual, which you get from battles, quests, and more. However, when deleveling a character, the exact number of EXP required for that level goes back into the stock. So that means if you’ve deleveled a character you can dip into their stockpiled EXP to level them back up.

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition will release for the Nintendo Switch on May 29, 2020. You can also check out details on the Ponspectors here, the new Time Attack mode here, and the Events Theater Mode here.
