The Xbox Games with Gold service will be retired as part of the change. This means subscribers will no longer get the rotation of monthly free games. Instead, subscribers will now have access to a limited selection of games from the Game Pass library. New games will be added to this selection between two and three times a year.

The games included in Xbox Game Pass Core are:

  • Among Us
  • Descenders
  • Dishonored 2
  • Doom Eternal
  • The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited
  • Fable Anniversary
  • Fallout 4
  • Fallout 76
  • Forza Horizon 4
  • Gears 5
  • Grounded
  • Halo 5: Guardians
  • Halo Wars 2
  • Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
  • Human Fall Flat
  • Inside
  • Ori & The Will of the Wisps
  • Psychonauts 2
  • State of Decay 2

Xbox Game Pass Core will also include online multiplayer on Xbox consoles, just like Xbox Live Gold currently does. It will cost $9.99 a month. This is the same price as Xbox Game Pass for PCs. The console tier of Xbox Game Pass is now $10.99 and offers access to the full Game Pass library, but not online multiplayer. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is $16.99 and offers both these things, an EA Play membership and access to the service on PCs and via the cloud.

Xbox Live Gold will become Xbox Game Pass Core on September 14, 2023.
