The indie games program went live in Japan and two titles quietly trickled in on the marketplace, a short visual novel and a shoot ’em up called Crescendo Symphony.

Crescendo Symphony is a side scrolling shooter with a bullet burst meter underneath your life meter. You usually fire a wave of bullets, but when the meter runs out you can’t fire at all. Sorry, trigger happy pilots.

You don’t need a Japanese XBLA account to get this. Just log in and head to “indie games”. Crescendo Symphony is worth a trial download if you’re interested in seeing a Japan developed community game or enjoy shooters, but don’t expect much. I played the demo and it’s repetitive. Might be worth 240 Microsoft Points ($3), mostly for the sake of novelty.
