Blizzard released a new story cinematic trailer for World of Warcraft titled “Threads of Destiny.” The video shows the past of Ansurek the Nerubian Queen, a secondary antagonist who will appear in The War Within expansion.
Before the launch of an expansion, Blizzard often likes to release cinematic trailers to provide context or teasers for upcoming story developments. This one focuses on the Nerubians of Azj-Kahet, whose Queen Ansurek allied with the expansion’s main villain, Xal’atath. Ansurek will be the final boss of Nerub-ar Palace, the first raid of The War Within that is set to launch on September 11, 2024.
The Nerubians are a race of spider-like creatures who have appeared as far back as Warcraft III, though this may be the first time we see one of their cities fully intact. As well as hosting the first raid, the Nerubian city of Azj-Kahet will also be an explorable zone in the expansion.
