With the holidays in season, some players like to get in the festive mood by dressing their characters up in celebratory attire. But every special outfit needs an equally special weapon, so here’s a brief guide on where to get some Christmas Weapon appearances, as well as how the Transmog system works in World of Warcraft.
How does Transmog Work in World of Warcraft?
The Transmog System in WoW is simple, if potentially expensive. In most cities there will be a Transmogrifier, who you can find directions to by talking to any Guard. At the Transmogrifier you will be able to select each of your visible equipment slots and choose an appearance to place over that slot, or hide the piece entirely. You can also select completed armor sets from raids or other sources, or save your own custom ensembles. The available appearances include any weapons or armor you have picked up over the years and certain mounts, such as the Grand Expedition Yak, may also have portable Transmogrifiers included. When you’re happy with your appearance you just have to click apply at the bottom, though this will require paying a fee in Gold based on how many slots you are transmogrifying.
Where to get Christmas Weapon Appearances in World of Warcraft
There are a few ways to get Christmas Weapon appearances for Transmog in WoW, but they will vary depending on the year. For December, 2024, the biggest variety are available via the Trading Post system. Siliconera has a full guide for December’s Trading Post offerings, but in short you can complete tasks in the Adventurer’s Journal to earn Trader’s Tender which can then be used to purchase items like Weapon Cosmetics. The items in the Trading Post change each month, but you can ‘freeze’ one item to keep it available if you don’t have enough Tender just yet.
The Christmas Weapon cosmetics available currently in the December Trading Post are:
- Candied Blade (one-handed Sword) – 600 Tender
- Great Candied Blade (two-handed Sword) – 450 Tender
- Cheerbringer (two-handed Mace) – 450 Tender
- Candied Knife (Dagger) – 400 Tender
- Tree Topper (Staff) – 400 Tender
- Aegis of Yuletide (Shield) – 300 Tender
And you can get a look at those weapons via the gallery below:
There may also be other ways to get Christmas Weapons, such as during the Feast of Winter Veil event that begins on December 19, 2024.
World of Warcraft: The War Within is available now for PC and Mac, while the December Trading Post items will remain available until January 1, 2025.
