Wakfu, a tactical online RPG from Ankama Studio, has Pandawas. These fighters are (you guessed it) martial arts masters that love to drink. Booze changes how they fight. Pandawas act more like support characters when they are sober. After a few pints of fermented bamboo milk, Pandawas become masters of the drunken fist. Pandawas are one of the fourteen classes in Wakfu which include staples like warriors and healers plus classes like time magi and gamblers.
I played a bit of Wakfu and I’ll compare it’s kind of like Disgaea or Final Fantasy Tactics online. Combat is played on a grid, but players have time limits with bonuses to encourage faster fights.
Square Enix is handling Wakfu in North America and right now the game is in closed beta. You can register for a key here. Square Enix is still thinking about payment options for the game when it is finally released. Cash-op and subscription plans are both on the table, Wakfu may even have both in North America.
