As we mentioned this weekend, Xseed picked up Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls from Acquire. It’s coming soon too, Xseed has their PS3 dungeon crawler slated for a spring release as a PlayStation Network download in North America and Europe. Acquire originally distributed Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls as a digital download in Japan too, but later packed it with its sequel for a retail release.

“Having the opportunity to work with Acquire to bring over Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls is truly an exciting one for us. We’ve long admired the Wizardry series as a pioneer of the RPG genre, so with our upcoming release players will be able to experience a defining moment in gaming history,” said Jun Iwasaki, President of Xseed Games.

Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls will be the first localized Wizardry game in nearly a decade. Yes, it’s been that long since Atlus released Wizardry: The Forsaken Land for PlayStation 2. This is also the first Acquire developed title from Xseed. Acquire is also behind the Way of the Samurai series and the upcoming PSP action/adventure game Akiba’s Trip.
