Coinciding with the launch of the PSP Go in Europe and North America are a new kind of PSP game called “minis”. Fifteen under 100MB titles will be available at launch. Over fifty minis will appear in PAL territories by the end of this year.
Indie developers like HoneySlug which consists of three developers in London and mobile phone developers like Subatomic Studios who made Fieldrunners for the iPhone are working on minis.
On the other side of the spectrum companies like Electronic Arts and PlayStation Network alumni Creat (they made Cuboid and Magic Ball for the PS3) are developing on minis too.
Sony released a batch of “mini” screenshots, but we don’t have names for all of the games. Zombie Tycoon and the farming game look interesting to me. You can’t go wrong with Tetris either, even if it has no frills.
