Grand Theft Auto 6 has finally been revealed and it is coming out in 2025 for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Many players may be wondering about other platforms, such as any potential GTA 6 release date for the PS4 and Xbox One. Here’s what you need to know.
Will GTA 6 be released on the PS4?
Unfortunately, I don’t have happy news for players who only own the PlayStation 4. At this time, there is no announcement or confirmation that GTA 6 is coming to the PS4 in the foreseeable future. In fact, the only platforms that were revealed during the announcement trailer was for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
It seems unlikely the game will come out on PS4, especially since it features impressive graphics, realistic environments, and high-quality textures. It also features one of the largest worlds Rockstar Games has ever made, so it seems unlikely to be available on PS4. Anyone who wants to check it out should upgrade to a current-gen platform between now and 2025.
Will GTA 6 come out on the Xbox One?
GTA 6 is in a similar situation on the Xbox One, much like it does for the PS4. Rockstar Games has not announced an Xbox One version and it seems unlikely given the outdated hardware. As such, any Xbox players who want to check out one of the most anticipated video games of all time should upgrade to either the Xbox Series X or S.
Notably, though, the digital-only Xbox Series S costs significantly less than its X counterpart. You can often get this smaller console for almost half the price of its more powerful sibling. Just know you may have to upgrade the storage quite soon, depending on how large GTA 6 ends up being.
Grand Theft Auto VI will release for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S sometime in 2025.
