Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred is the highly anticipated first expansion for the 2023 Blizzard action RPG. Considering that Microsoft owns Blizzard Entertainment these days, it stands to reason that some players might think this expansion will be part of Game Pass. So, is Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred going to be available for “free” as part of Xbox or PC Game Pass?
Will Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred Be on Xbox or PC Game Pass?
The new Vessel of Hatred expansion is an exciting one, adding quite a bit of new content, plus a brand new, never-before-seen class in the Spiritborn. However, some players may not want to shell out the cash for the expansion. That is understandable. Unfortunately, Vessel of Hatred will not be available on Game Pass, at least at launch.
This goes for both the Xbox and PC Game Pass. There is no word on this expansion being offered as part of the subscription. It is unlikely to happen for a while, if ever, so don’t count on it. Unfortunately, you will have to buy this expansion if you want to check it out.
Is Diablo 4 Base Game on Game Pass?
Fortunately, there is not all bad news. While Vessel of Hatred is unlikely to be part of Game Pass for the foreseeable future, the positive is the base Diablo 4 game is available through the service. If you have an active Game Pass subscription, you are able to access the entire base game for “free” as long as you keep it up. Additionally, if you buy the “Ultimate” version of the game, you’ll get an entire month of Game Pass with your purchase. Can’t say it’s worth it, but it’s one of the perks of getting the $90 version of the game.
This is likely why some players think the expansion might be also part of Game Pass. Thankfully, though, you could look at it as saving some money by not having to pay for the base game and using that to purchase the new expansion.
Diablo 4 is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Vessel of Hatred releases on October 8, 2024.
