When the Wii U price was announced Nintendo mentioned something called "Nintendo Network Premium" with the Deluxe Set. No, Nintendo isn’t charging for online play. Logging on to the Nintendo Network is free, but the Wii U Deluxe Set will give users an incentive if they buy their games from the Nintendo eShop.
Wii U Deluxe Set owners get approximately 10% of the cost of the game back in points. So, if you buy New Super Mario Bros. U, which costs $59.99 on the eShop you’ll earn 599 points. Users can exchange 500 points for a $5 credit for use to buy Wii U or Nintendo 3DS games on the eShop.
Points will be earned on all games bought from a Wii U Deluxe Set from November 18, 2012 to December 31, 2014. The Wii U Deluxe Set includes a console with 32 GB of storage, Wii U GamePad, a charging cradle, and a copy of Nintendo Land for $349.99. The standard set has a Wii U with 8GB of memory and GamePad for $299.99.
