There are a lot of ways to put a personal touch on your party members in Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake. You can choose how they look, how they sound, and what vocation they use. You can use books and accessories to alter their personalities, too. One of the most straightforward options comes from Seeds. These items give a small permanent boost to one stat, allowing you to double down on strengths or shore up weaknesses. While Seeds aren’t incredibly rare, they’re uncommon enough. Who should you give Seeds in Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake? Here’s our advice.
Who should you give Seeds in Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake?
There are a couple of good answers to this question, and we also need to talk about when to give those Seeds out. Broadly speaking, there are two ways to go. Many people will simply dump all of their Seeds onto the Hero. Since the Hero will never switch vocations, you can give them Seeds immediately after finding any. This will make your Hero super-powerful, but keep an eye on those stats. There are caps for each stat, and once you hit it there isn’t much point feeding a character more Seeds.
If you decide to share the joy with your other party members, it’s important to keep a few things in mind. First, any vocation change will result in the character’s stats being cut in half. That means any Seeds you gave them prior to that have had their effect cut in half, too. As such, it’s best to wait to give them any Seeds until at least after their first vocation change. The later in the game you give them out, the more effective those Seeds are going to be. Finally, always keep stat caps in mind before using Seeds. Every stat can max out, so keep an eye on the results of your Seed usage to ensure you’re actually getting something from it.
Which Seeds should be used on which party members?
As for who to give them to, it depends on their vocations. Physical attackers should be given Seeds of Strength until they hit their cap. Your magic users aren’t going to be doing much direct combat, so giving them Seeds of Strength is a waste. You should also give Seeds of Luck to your physical attackers, since that stat determines how often they’ll do a critical strike. Similarly, you should give Seeds of Magic and Wisdom to your magic users rather than your physical attackers. The remaining Seed types can be useful for any party member.
Seeds of Life give the character more HP, Seeds of Resilience improve physical defense, Seeds of Stamina will help the character get more HP in level-ups, and Seeds of Agility will improve the character’s speed, allowing them to act earlier in battle. Personally, I like to give Seeds of Agility to my healer to make sure they can act first in a pinch. The other Seeds are best used to raise up whoever has the lowest score in that stat. Enemies will usually attack the front members of your party more often, but some are programmed to aim for the rear members. Everyone needs to be able to take a hit or two.
Distribute your Seeds carefully and you’ll be more than ready to take on the forces of evil. Good luck!
