When Genshin Impact launched in 2020, one of its first banners featured the 5-star Pyro character Klee. However, the fire-based element has come a long way since the introduction of the explosively adorable character. With Dendro adding several additional elemental reactions in 2022’s Sumeru update, Pyro characters are now more powerful than they have ever been.

While they can generate plenty of damage on their own, Pyro characters are now able to trigger Overloaded, Melt, Vaporize, Burning, and Burgeon elemental reactions. Amber, Bennett, Dehya, Diluc, Thoma, Xiangling, Xinyan, and Yanfei are always available on any featured or standard banner. However, you can only get Hu Tao, Klee, and Yoimiya when they are featured 5-stars.

As far as which Pyro characters are the best, it really depends on what elemental reaction you are trying to achieve and which teammates you have. Despite being a 4-star character, Bennett is actually one of the best Genshin Impact healers due to his ability to both heal and buff team damage. The Mondstadt hero is so powerful that he’s often featured in the game’s top damage-dealing teams.

Hu Tao is another heavy hitter, as she is able to generate a ton of damage with her Elemental Skill Guide to Afterlife. Lastly, Thoma is perfect for Vaporize and Burgeon teams, as he is able to provide a shield that both protects teammates while also applying fire damage when his Elemental Burst is active. Regardless of which Pyro character you have on your team, the fire element is extremely useful in both team builds and world puzzles.
