White Knight Chronicles won’t come out in North America and Europe until early next year. Sony plans on developing the game, specifically the online portion further, before shipping White Knight Chronicles overseas.
A new feature called Georama will be part of the game. Players can customize their own town which doubles as a custom lobby when meeting with other online players. “It’s your space in the elements of White Knight Chronicles,” Tsubasa Inaba, Producer at Sony Computer Entertainment America, explained. Before you can develop your space you need to find items like Georama trees, houses, NPCs which can be recruited to work in your town to create weapons and other items.
Inaba was also optimistic about implementing voice chat in the game and said “We should be able to do it.”
Part of the reason for the long lag time is Sony wants to have key features like Georama on the Blu-ray disc instead of releasing them in upgrade patches. Georama is currently not part of the Japanese release, but it will be released there as a patch.
