Where to Find The Pit in Diablo 4

Diablo 4 is host to plenty of end-game content for players to sink their teeth into. End-game content largely revolves around farming for high-end loot. To do that, you’ll need to access The Pit. The Pit is the only way to unlock the Torment difficulties, which enable enemies and bosses to drop ancestral gear and rare upgrade materials essential for taking on Diablo 4’s challenging end-game bosses. Here’s where to find The Pit in Diablo 4 and a brief explanation on how it works.

Where to Find The Pit in Diablo 4

The Pit can be found in Cerrigar, inside the Emerald Chase area of Scosglen. Scosglen is the Northern part of Sanctuary, and Cerrigar is just South of its center. If you’ve skipped the base campaign on your character, the waypoint for Cerrigar should already be unlocked. Otherwise, you’ll have to make it there on foot. In either case, North of the waypoint, right before the exit from the roundabout it’s inside of, is an object called the Artificer’s Obelisk. Interacting with it pulls up the menu for The Pit.

The Pit has a few prerequisites before you can enter it. Only characters who have completed the base Diablo 4 campaign and reached level 60 can activate it. Once you’ve done that, you’ll be able to select various tiers to complete the event on, a few of which correspond to various difficulties. For example, Tier 1 is balanced to Normal difficulty, Tier 5 is Hard, and so on. To unlock Torment 1, you’re going to have to complete The Pit on Tier 20. In doing so, you essentially prove that you’re ready to tackle challenges on Torment 1.

Why you Should use The Pit in Diablo 4

Playing at Torment difficulties does more than improve the loot you can find. Many end-game challenges and events have components locked behind Torment. High-level tributes for the Undercity can only be used while on a Torment difficulty, and boss-summoning materials like the Malignant Heart and Distilled Fear will only drop as Torment-level rewards for defeating elites and opening Tree of Whispers caches.

Once you think you’re properly equipped to take on harder enemies, the first thing you should do is enter The Pit to unlock further Torments. Completing The Pit at higher tiers will also earn you upgrades for your paragon glyphs. The higher the tier you beat The Pit on, the more glyph upgrade chances you get, and the less likely they are to fail. If you’re struggling to complete higher tiers, try lower tiers you’re certain you can beat in order to power-up your glyphs and make your character even stronger!

Reaching level 60 in Diablo 4 can be a hassle on new characters. It’s important to access The Pit as soon as possible.
