Where to Find the Genshin Impact Crablord Emperor of Fire and Iron

The 4.0 Genshin Impact update is finally here and adds in the new Emperor of Fire and Iron boss fight. The epic showdown has you battling the mighty Crablord, who is hidden in the depths of Fontaine. However, you must locate the battle before you can unlock it.

Where is the Emperor of Fire and Iron World Boss located in Genshin Impact?

The Emperor of Fire and Iron boss is located in South Fontaine, just below the West Slopes of Mont Automnequi. Although it’s technically just above the starting area of Romaritime Harbor, the fiery Crablord’s lair is underwater, so you will need to acquire a new diving ability before you take it on.

Depending on how far you have progressed in the story, there are a few ways to access the Fontaine boss. Below is a breakdown of the steps you need to take to reach the enemy.

How do I find Emperor of Fire and Iron in Genshin Impact?

When entering Fontaine for the very first time, have your Traveler attune to the Statue of the Seven in Romaritime Harbor to unlock the new diving ability. Now that you are able to dive, you can take a Waverider from the harbor and head North to the boss icon just south of West Slopes of Mont Automnequi. Once there, jump into the lake and swim through a massive underwater hole that will lead to the Emperor of Fire and Iron boss arena.

If you are already inside Fontaine City after progressing the Act I “Prelude of Blancheur and Noirceur” archon quest, there is a second route to reach the boss you will need to take. Head to the Court of Fontaine and enter the Aquabus depot. Inside the building is an elevator; go inside and take the Clementine line. You will now need to hop on the Aquabus tour, which will take you to South Fontaine. After you’ve passed through the West Slopes of Mont Automnequi, hop off the tour and jump into the ocean where the boss icon is.

You can technically reach the Emperor of Fire and Iron boss fight as soon as you unlock the diving ability at Romaritime Harbor. However, many players may find themselves at the Court of Fontaine after being locked into the story. Regardless of which route you take, the Crablord is pretty easy to access once you unlock the fast travel points in South Fontaine.
