Once you reach levels 26 through 28 in Palworld, you’ll unlock your base’s Power Generator and Production Assembly Line. The only problem is you need an Electric-type Pal to power up the devices. Because of this, Rayhound has become an ideal Pal for this job. Unfortunately, finding the Pal takes a bit of work. However, you are in luck because we have already tracked down the Electric-type Pals location for you!
Rayhound is found in the Dessicated Desert in Palworld next to the Duneshelter fast travel point. The desert region is directly to the east of the snow-filled Astral Mountains. It can be found traveling north on the map from the starting area. However, the map in Palworld is massive, so prepare for a bit of a trek until you reach the sandlands.

How to catch Rayhound in Palworld
Rayhound spawns at around level 30 to 32, so you should at least be level 25 before trying to catch it. The Electric-type Pal isn’t too difficult to catch. However, it can sometimes spawn on the map in groups. So if you aren’t high enough level, it’s advised that you walk around the desert until you find one by itself, as it’s easy to get overwhelmed by a pack of them.
You should also bring a Ground-type Pal to the encounter, as Rayhound is weak to Ground-type attacks in Palworld. In the early game, you can easily find Rushoar, Fuddler, Hnagyu, Dumud, or Digtoise. Just ensure your Ground Pal is around level 30 before you try to catch the electric hound.
Below are the steps on how to catch Rayhound:
- Fast travel to the Duneshelter warp point. Once here, leave the settlement and explore the Dessicated Desert sand dunes until you see a group of Rayhounds.
- Throw out your Ground-type Pal and start attacking it. For quick attacks, you can use the Makeshift Handgun, which unlocks at level 25 and costs 35 Ingot, 10 High Quality Pal Oil, and 30 Fiber to craft. For ranged attacks, the Musket is a great pick and can be crafted with 25 Ingot, 5 High Quality Pal Oil, and 30 Wool at level 21.
- After you get its health down to 10%, withdraw your Ground-type Pal so it doesn’t knock out Rayhound by accident.
- Throw out as many Hyper Spheres as you can until you catch it. The Hyper Sphere can is unlocked at level 27 and can be crafted with 3 Paldium Fragment, 3 Ingot, 10 Wood, and 2 Cement.
