Where to Find Missing Ursaring in the Southern Ruins in Detective Pikachu Returns

In Detective Pikachu Returns, there is a side quest that sees you searching for a missing Ursaring in The Southern Ruins. However, the Teddiursa evolution is incredibly hard to locate, as it’s actually located in a hidden area during The Fabled Aurora case. Here is where to find the missing Ursaring in Detective Pikachu Returns.

Where do I find the missing Ursaring location in Detective Pikachu Returns The Fabled Aurora?

During the Fabled Aurora case, you will find an Ursaring standing next to a boulder in the middle of the Southern Ruins level. After speaking to it, it will ask you to find its partner which has gone missing. If you are like me, you are gonna be left scratching your head after not being able to find the Pokemon despite looking everywhere. That is because the missing Ursaring can’t actually be found until towards the end of the case.

The Missing Ursasring is located behind the ice wall at the entrance of the Southern Ruins temple in Detective Pikachu Returns. You can find the exact location by taking the right path after entering the temple. At the end of the corridor is a giant ice wall with a “shadow” figure behind it.

However, you will need to find Professor Gordon in the story first to unlock the Galarian Darmanitan ride mount before you can get behind the ice wall. Once Pikachu is able to ride on top of the Darmanitan, head back to the ice wall and use his punching ability to shatter it. This will then reveal a hidden room where the Ursaring can be found frozen in a block of ice. Walk up to the Pokemon and have Galarian Darmanitan punch it to free it from its icy prison.

Finally, talk to the Ursaring in Detective Pikachu Returns to complete the quest. The freed Pokemon will automatically travel back outside and be reunited with the other Ursaring. And that’s it! The most challenging aspect of this quest is progressing the story to unlock Galarian Darmanitan. So, if you are not far enough in the case yet, just put the Ursaring side quest to the side until you get to the end of the level.
