How to get Loot Llamas in LEGO Fortnite

Although Loot Llamas can be found randomly throughout your map in LEGO Fortnite, there is a specific way you can tell when they have spawned near you. While playing your game, you may notice a random rainbow sparkle appear in the air around you. This is a fairy, and it can lead you to either a treasure chest or Loot Llama.

Once you find a fairy nearby, you need to follow it immediately. If you wait too long, it will permanently disappear. Sprint after the rainbow sparkle, and it will eventually turn into loot, a treasure chest, or lead you directly to a Loot Llama that has spawned in the overworld. If it is a Llama, do not destroy it.

While it may be tempting to smack the Loot Llama with your axe, destroying it will actually lead to you losing your treasure. Instead, you must pet a Loot Llama to generate loot from it. You can do this on Xbox by holding the X button down. On PlayStation, it’s the Square button. The items the Llama can drop are randomly generated, so you may get Common rewards instead of Rare or Legendary.

Fairies don’t always lead to Llamas in LEGO Fortnite as they are a random spawn. However, the only way to consistently find them is to follow the rainbow sparkle when it shows up on your map. As mentioned earlier, you need to follow fairies as soon as possible as they can despawn.

If the fairy does lead to a Loot Llama, make sure there aren’t any enemies nearby. During my playthrough, I actually lost a couple of Llamas because an enemy accidentally ran into them and destroyed them. So it’s best to ensure your map is clear before petting it.

LEGO Fortnite is now available on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and mobile devices.
