Where Is The Wailing Banshee Gizamaluk in Final Fantasy XVI?

Sometimes a Notorious Mark bulletin on the Hunt Board is great and will tell you exactly where to go. It’s a no fuss experience. This happens with “The Wailing Banshee” Gizamaluk in Final Fantasy XVI. Its note says it is in Garnick in Waloed. Perhaps because there’s not really much to that map in the game, it’s very easy to find the monster. The biggest danger you’ll face is possibly happening upon the Behemoth King along the way.

Where is the Wailing Banshee Gizamaluk in Final Fantasy XVI?

Like I mentioned before, taking care of Gizamaluk to finish the Wailing Banshee in Final Fantasy XVI involves a quick trip to Waloed’s map. Teleport in from the Vidargraes fast travel point, before you go take care of the story quest “Back to Their Origins.” You want to head to the clearly marked ruins of the small village named Garnick to the west. The second after you enter the village, which I marked on the Waloed map below, the encounter will start.

Remember way back when you fought Benedikta and the monsters she spawned that were her “sisters” in the early game? And the Aruna Notorious Mark from earlier? Gizamaluk is a much stronger variant of them. Expect tornados and lots of aerial showdowns. That means equipping Garuda or Eikons with midair moves is a good idea. It’s a level 40, A-rank opponent that kicks off the battle with a Cacophony wind attack, which really sets the tone for the fight. Also, when it gets low on health, it will use a Storm Chaser attack that combines tornados with swooping dives to attack Clive.

You’re pretty well rewarded for that effort, however. Beating Gizamaluk gets you 3,000 EXP, 80 AP, 9,700 gil, 45 renown, a Clouded Eye, 20 Sharp Fangs, and 10 Magicked Ash.

Final Fantasy XVI is available for the PlayStation 5. A demo is out now as well. There is a six-month exclusivity period.
