Where Is the Starfield Flight Simulator and How Does It Work?

One of the best faction storylines in Starfield is the UC Vanguard plot. Before you can truly dig into the Alien-inspired Terrormorphs storyline, you’ll need to pass the initiation test. This involves using and passing the Starfield flight simulator test.

Where to Find the Starfield Flight Simulator

While space combat is quite common and challenging in Starfield, the flight simulator is among the hardest space battle tasks. I think this is especially true for newer players. To tackle it, you need to head to New Atlantis on the Jemison planet in the Alpha Centauri System and go into the first floor of the MAST District headquarters. This is the massive tower that overlooks all of the city.

Speak with Commander Tuala in the lobby and he will offer you the chance to join the UC Vanguard faction. This is a fleet of volunteer space fighters, so you understandably have to pass a test first. This involves a space simulator, which you can find on the bottom floor of the building.

Take the elevator to the Orientation Hall. You can optionally take a look at the exhibits here or head to the back and interact with the elevator there to reach the flight simulator floor. Speak with the NPC next to the simulator and enter to find a realistic cockpit.

Enter the pilot seat and you’ll have up to six levels to complete. Each one increases the number of enemy pilots or makes them stronger. You only need to pass the first three levels, though, to make it into the UC Vanguard.

If you want to up your rewards, you can opt for a higher score. It takes some practice but you can infinitely try it as much as you want so long as you don’t leave the cockpit. In fact, it is recommended to fail a level and then restart it because you’ll come back with full health and shields.

This is the best way to give yourself a chance of passing all levels with flying colors, though this isn’t necessary, so don’t strain yourself too much.

Starfield is available for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
