Where Is the Blood of Lathander Mace in Baldur’s Gate 3?

The Baldur’s Gate series is full of many secrets for players to explore and find. One of the more obscure Baldur’s Gate 3 weapons you can get that is extremely powerful is the Blood of Lathander mace. Here’s what you need to do to unlock this weapon and what it does for you.

Where to Find the Blood of Lathander Mace in Baldur’s Gate 3

To start, you need to reach Act 2 and the Mountain Pass in Baldur’s Gate 3. This is one of the main routes to the Moonrise Towers. Head to the Rosymorn Monastery and find the Githyanki Crèche in the basement of the place.

Here, you’ll want to befriend the Githyanki soldiers (or fight them I guess), then make your way to the force field. Speak with the Githyanki in charge here to show her your artifact, which you won’t lose, and she will unlock the barrier for you. If you opt for the violent route, you can just shut it down yourself.

Make your way through this corridor past the barrier to the Githyanki inquisitor, which will lead you to an intriguing part of the story I won’t spoil here. It results in a boss fight between you and the inquisitor. Defeat him and you are now free to do the Blood of Lathander puzzle. On the west side of this room, you’ll find two statues.

For the statue originally facing north, turn it to face east (check your minimap if you need a compass). Then for the other one, turn it to face west. Head in and destroy the Dawnbreaker trap and its power source to open up the next barrier.

In this next room, you want a stealthy person like Astarion. Use your sleight of hand to destroy the next trap and power source in this larger room. Head into the room after that and have someone like Shadowheart claim the Blood of Lathander mace.

This is one of the best maces in the game, as it is able to revive the user once per long rest when they would die and lets them cast the extremely powerful Sunbeam spell.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is available for PCs and will release for the PS5 on September 6, 2023.
