When Will FF7 Rebirth Come to PC?

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is one of 2024’s most popular new releases. While currently exclusive to the PS5, how soon can players expect to see FF7 Rebirth release on PC?

When is the earliest we could see an FF7 Rebirth PC Release Date?

The good news? There’s next to no doubt that an FF7 Rebirth PC port is coming, especially given Square-Enix’s recent pattern with their releases. The bad news? Well, there’s no release date or even official confirmation. However, this doesn’t mean we have no information to go off of. There are certain things we can use to make informed assumptions about the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth PC release window.

We know that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has an exclusivity window through at least May 29, 2024. That’s only three months from release, so will the PC release be that early? Well, probably not. You have to look at a few more factors to really make an informed decision. The May date is merely the earliest it can appear on another platform, but there’s no reason to suspect there will be any that soon.

When Final Fantasy VII Remake released its Intergrade upgrade for PS5, the PC port was released about six months later. However, this was over a year from the initial PS4 release of Final Fantasy VII Remake. Similarly, Final Fantasy XVI is another PS5 exclusive that we are expecting to make it to PC inevitably. Fans are still waiting for that port nearly nine months after release, so there’s no set scale.

Keep in mind, these are different games and teams. It’s actually entirely possible that we see the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth PC port before we see the one for Final Fantasy XVI. However, I wouldn’t start clearing room on your PC’s drive until at least late summer. Again, different game and team, but keep in mind Horizon: Forbidden West took nearly two years to come to PC.

Hopefully, my release window is conservative, and we will actually see the game sooner! Either way, it’s going to be worth the wait, and hopefully, the devs have learned a thing or two about optimizing PC ports since Final Fantasy VII Remake’s launch.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is currently available exclusively on PlayStation 5.
