Yuffie Kisaragi is the lead character in the Intergrade DLC for the original Final Fantasy VII Remake, and she is back in Rebirth as one of the party members. While recruiting Yuffie for your party in FFVII Rebirth might be quite simple to do, it takes a fair bit of patience to happen.
Is Yuffie optional again in FFVII Rebirth?
First and foremost, veteran FFVII fans may remember Yuffie as an optional party member in the original 1997 game. It is a completely different situation this time in the second game in this remake trilogy. No, Yuffie is not an optional party member in this particular PS5 game.
Thankfully, this means you won’t miss her. It certainly may feel like you are missing her once you get pretty far into the story like I did, but this is intentional. She joins the party as part of the main story, but it will take some patience to get there.
How do I get Yuffie to join the party in FFVII Rebirth
To get Yuffie to join the party in FFVII Rebirth, you’ll need to reach Costa del Sol first in the main story. Towards the end of the new storyline in this beachfront town area, you’ll see Yuffie come back into the plot. You’ll want to finish the chapter here for Yuffie to officially join the party. This is exactly around the start of Chapter 6.
Yuffie will become a new party member as the team sets out from Costa del Sol. You’ll be able to explore the new wider Corel Region area alongside her. From this point forward, you’ll also be able to customize her equipment. In addition, you’ll be able to play as her in fights now if you want to. She has a pretty similar skill set to her DLC appearance, with fast movement and high stagger capabilities, which is quite nice.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is available right now exclusively for the PS5.
