Cait Sith is the lovable toy cat companion from the Gold Saucer, and he is once again a playable companion in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. This remake sees Cait Sith as the final new playable party member to join the group, and here’s when you’ll be able to play as him.
How do I unlock Cait Sith as a party member in FFVII Rebirth?
Editor’s Note: Slight spoilers lie ahead for the main story.
Cait Sith, like the other new members of the group like Yuffie and Red XIII, is unlocked through the main story itself. You don’t have to worry about completing some weird side objective or quest to play as Cait Sith. Just keep going through the main story until you reach Chapter 8 work towards the end of it.
Once the team is moving on from the Gold Saucer and into Chapter 9, Cait Sith will formally join the team. From this point forward, players will be able to customize him, add him to the party, and play as him.
Cait Sith Moves and Abilities Explained
Cait Sith is quite the intriguing character in FFVII Rebirth. He is honestly one of the most versatile party members in the game with his deep set of skills and playstyle. He is almost like two party members in one, due to his Mog pal. How it works is he starts out as a somewhat ranged character who uses his mega phone to damage enemies.
He has a few skills, but the bulk of his utility comes from the ability Let’s Ride! This ability calls over Mog. You can ride on him for access to new abilities or let him fight separately like a fourth party member. Mog sticks around until he perishes in battle. Cait Sith also has a dice he can roll for a random effect. With his decently high health and magical attack, he is a solid tank-like character and spellcaster. But he does take some getting used to.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is available right now exclusively for the PS5.
