When Are Special Discount Shop Sale Days in Metaphor: ReFantazio

As expected from a game with daily life elements and major cities, stores in Metaphor: ReFantazio will sometimes drop their prices. These can be tied to regular weekly events, monthly promotions, or in-game holidays. It’s a lot to keep up with! So here’s how to easily keep track of the sale days and Special Discounts at shops in Metaphor: ReFantazio.

When can I get items on sale during Special Discount shop days in Metaphor: ReFantazio?

The easiest way to keep track of sales when you’re first starting out is to regularly check the calendar. In the main menu for Metaphor: ReFantazio, it’s one of the options you can select. You can see the current month, as well as upcoming months. Note that while the Special Discount events like Big Bargain Day and Weapon or Armour Shop Discount Days will be shown far in advance, sales pertaining to events will come up as story quests are completed. 

Here’s how the calendar looks in three screenshots I took, to give you an idea of the Special Discounts section recurring staples you should keep an eye out for as you play. They show how a Big Bargain Day can show up on a weekend or holiday, as well as the recurring specialized sales.

Once you get comfortable with the system though, I basically recommend saving your shopping for the “weekend,” which is Idlesday. That’s because every Idlesday in Metaphor: ReFantazio is a Big Bargain Day sale offering special discounts at all shops. From my experience, everything will be 20% off then. It’s a big help and, since everything is just on sale across the board, you don’t have to worry about keeping track of a specific day.

If you are exclusively saving for new weapons or armor though, then there’s another easy day to remember. The 29th of each month is always the Weapon Shop Discount Day and Armour Shop Discount Day. So you can always remember the last week of a month, the last two days will both have deals available.

However, it is also fairly easy to catch the special sale days without stalking the calendar too. When you bring up the in-game map, you’ll notice the icons for stores will look different when they have sales for events or special discounts in Metaphor: ReFantazio. You’ll notice they’re red, alerting you to a potential deal even if you didn’t take the time to check your calendar.
