What’s the Metaphor: ReFantazio Greatworm Homo Butera Weakness

When on the hunt for Heismay in Metaphor: ReFantazio, you’ll find yourself facing a Greatworm Homo Butera human with one major weakness instead of a typical sandworm. As long as you have some mages or people who know magic around, you should be all right.

How do I beat the Greatworm Homo Butera in Metaphor: ReFantazio?

Okay, the short of it is… you don’t. Not initially. When you fight the Greatworm Homo Butera in Metaphor: ReFantazio, you’re essentially exploiting its weaknesses until a certain event happens to end the battle and send you into a rather unique dungeon.

However, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give it your all! This human has one major weakness to exploit. The Greatworm Homo Butera is weak against ice-based attacks. So you need someone who can use Blizz. At this point in the game, your best option is to have at least one of your characters using the Mage Archetype for the fight. If at all possible, having someone else as the Seeker or Healer on-hand, so you can use the Synthesis Skill Gablizz, is a huge help too. In my case, I had the hero as a Gunner with the Blizz inherited skill and Hulkenberg as a Mage with Blizz immediately available, and it worked out pretty well for me!

Here’s a screenshot showing the weakness I uncovered in this fight:

Once you deal enough damage, the fight against the Greatworm Homo Butera. You’ll then need to go through some timed dungeons to finish off this encounter.

As for finishing off this human, that won’t come until later. It is part of the Rank 7 Bardon Bond quest called “The Right to Rule.” As part of that mission, you’ll finally defeat this greatworm. Its weakness will be ice-type attacks when you do! But that won’t happen until probably September in-game, so don’t worry too much about that now. It will be at level 60 at that point though, so be ready!

Metaphor: ReFantazio is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. There is also a demo available.
