You may be scratching your head wondering how ads for future consoles are in a Nintendo 64 game. Did Nintendo predict the future? Nah. It's a graphic swap. The original version had ads for Kawasaki, but since Nintendo doesn’t have the license anymore they had to alter the game. As you can see they replaced the banners with ads for the Wii and the Nintendo DS Lite (picture past the break).
While this is a minor change it shows Nintendo is capable of altering the rom data for the virtual console releases if they please. Here’s a tantalizing thought: Treasure’s Sin and Punishment on the US virtual Console. The game already has English voiceovers and the other edits are minor. All Nintendo has to do is create a new splash screen, switch the menu text to English and maybe remove the Japanese subtitles to bring it to the rest of the world.
