How to use the Spider Skull in Cult of the Lamb

To use the Spider Skull in Cult of the Lamb, you must pick it up and deposit it into a Body Pit. Once you’ve done so, a special new follower, Webber, will crawl out of the pit and join your cult. You’ll also unlock Penitence Mode and the following special event Don’t Starve items under the Decorative tab in the Build menu:

  • Alchemy Engine.
  • Deerclops Figure.
  • Marble Tree.
  • Pig Head.
  • Science Machine.
  • Potted Treeguard.
  • Hay Wall.

When starting a new game save under Penitence Mode, you’ll gain two new meters for the Lamb: Hunger and Sleep. You’ll need to manage these for yourself as well as your followers. If either meter reaches zero, the Lamb will die.

How to build a Body Pit in Cult of the Lamb

If your cult doesn’t have a Body Pit to deposit the Spider Skull into, you can craft one at your Building Station. You’ll find it under the General section of the Follower Tab, and will need the following materials to build it:

  • 10 Gold.
  • 5 Lumber.

How to get the Spider Skull

If you haven’t got your hands on the Spider Skull yet, you can do so by catching Spiders at nighttime in your camp. Spiders will spawn at your cult when the moon comes out and begin running around; you’ll need to chase them. Once you’re close enough, interact with the Spider to catch it. Nine times out of 10, it will drop a Morsel, but if you’re lucky, you’ll get the Spider Skull instead. It may take you a few days as it is a random drop.

Cult of the Lamb is available now on the PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
