What to Do After Beating Pokemon Scarlet & Violet The Teal Mask DLC

There is so much for players to see and do in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s The Teal Mask, even in the postgame. Long after you finish off the main story of Kitakami and deal with Ogerpon, you still have plenty of activities to finish, especially if you didn’t do some of the side quests and collect all of the Pokemon. Here’s all of the postgame activities you can and should do in The Teal Mask.

First off in The Teal Mask is one everyone should immediately run and do, and that is to catch the Toxic Chain trio. This trio includes Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti. You battle them in the main story, but you can’t catch them until after defeating Carmine for the last time. You’ll find all three of them in their original spots where you fought them.

You can, technically, get Bloodmoon Ursaluna before beating The Teal Mask, but it is a challenge without Pokemon Home. You have to capture and register at least 150 Pokemon in Kitakami Pokedex. This is a difficult feat, requiring you to scour the entire region for Pokemon and evolving some of them through strange means.

Unlock the Glimmering Charm

The Glimmering Charm is the ultimate reward for completing the Kitakami Pokedex. Register all 200 Pokemon in The Teal Mask and this charm is yours. Speak with Jacq to get it and you’ll earn more Tera Shards in every raid battle you do.

Get a Free Shiny Munchlax

There is a free shiny Pokemon available to everyone in this DLC, but the game doesn’t make this clear. You can get this before beating the DLC, but it’s another challenge. Head to the Kitakami Hall and beat the Ogre Oustin’ minigame’s Hard Mode. I recommend doing this in multiplayer to earn yourself a shiny Munchlax.

Shiny Hunt New Pokemon

Speaking of shinies, there are a handful of new Pokemon to discover in the Kitakami region. Only a few of them can be shiny, such as Poltchageist and Dipplin, but it is worth hunting for them if you want their unique color variations.

Unlock New Jinbei Clothing Options

You might have noticed the Jinbei clothing you get in Kitakami has “green” underneath it. This is because there are other color variations. You can get the blue and gray variants by speaking to Carmine’s grandma in Mossui Town after beating the DLC. In addition, you can donate to the Caretaker at Kitakami Hall to obtain the Flashy Jinbei.

Find Billy and O’Nare

Billy and O’Nare are a couple of wealthy characters you might have seen mentioned by some of the NPCs in Mossui Town. You can find them and complete their side quest to get some powerful rewards.

Defeat the Ogre Clan

There are a handful of NPCs to battle throughout the Kitakami region. After beating the story, though, more appear in the form of the Ogre Clan trainers. They have powerful Pokemon, offer tons of experience for defeating them, and a solid bit of money, too, for an extra challenge.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s first DLC, The Teal Mask, is available on Nintendo Switch. The Indigo Disk will release in Winter 2023.
