What If Super Mario Bros. Had A Tennis Racket? [Update]

We’re going to find out in Mario Tennis Open. Camelot created Super Mario Tennis mode, which Nintendo describes as Super Mario Bros. with a tennis racket in hand. You can use it to swing at goombas and koopas as you revisit familiar levels. Here’s what that looks like:

On top of Mario’s Mushroom Kingdom buddies, Mario Tennis Open adds you… well your Mii as a playable character. You can equip Miis with gear like Bowser’s favorite tennis racket and Bullet Bill outfit. Items don’t just make your characters look snazzy, wearing Princess Peach’s shoes, for example, can boost your stats.

 

Mario Tennis Open is slated for release on May 20 in North America.
