What Ever Happened To D3’s Detroit Metal City Game?

This article is over 16 years old and may contain outdated information

I saw the live action Detroit Metal City movie in theaters this past weekend and it was a riot. After watching Krauser battle Gene Simmons from KISS I had an itching to play a Detroit Metal City video game. I remembered D3 Publisher planned to launch one similar to Ouendan/Elite Beat Agents in August to coincide with the movie’s launch in Japan, but it’s nowhere to be found. I don’t recall seeing it at Tokyo Game Show either. After a little digging I discovered Detroit Metal City: Death Shout was delayed twice. First it got quietly pushed back to fall. Now it’s not coming out until “this winter“, which likely means winter 2009. D3 might have better luck launching Detroit Metal City: Death Shout when the DVD comes out. Keep an eye out for this if you’re into touch screen beat tapping mixed with RPG-like band recruiting.
