What Does Silent Hill’s Art Director Think Of Silent Hill HD Collection?

Silent Hill art director, Masahiro Ito, isn’t impressed with Konami’s release of Silent Hill HD Collection. Upon being shown the screenshot comparison below by a follower on Twitter, Ito replied: “Left side is HD, isn’t it? It’s poor…”

In case you’re having trouble telling the difference, the HD Collection visuals on the left are missing fog effects, because of which you can see the edge of the game world in the screenshots. Ito couldn’t believe it at first, and asked: “”It’s really a released version? Really?””

 

Upon being assured that, yes, this was indeed an official Konami release, he exclaimed “OMG!!!!” and went on to say that he was afraid that new players exposed to Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3 through the HD Collection would think that the original games themselves were bad.
