With every new season and chapter of Fortnite, there is a new arsenal for players to choose from. Just as Fortnite OG returns us the classic map, it resurrects the classic selection of weapons. While many are familiar to veterans, newer players will be surprised at the weapons of seasons’ past and wonder what’s best.
Best Fortnite OG General Weapon: Pump Shotgun
Perhaps one of the simplest of the older weapons, the Pump Shotgun is your classic shotgun. While not as fast as the Tactical Shotgun, this model makes up for it with how wide and powerful its shots are. This is especially true in close-quarters combat, which is what I think it is best at and when it is worth using.
Best Fortnite OG Sniper Rifle: Hunting Rifle
The Hunting Rifle is the most classic concept of a sniper rifle you’ll find in Fortnite. While not automatic like the automatic sniper, one shot from this precise, high power gun is sure to earn a kill. It’s also relatively easy to use. I recommend finding and picking one up, heading to Tilted Towers, and seeing how it works best.
Best Fortnite OG Sneaky Weapon: Stink Bomb
While a gun will always be a key tool in a shooter such as Fortnite, there will also be more clever ways of getting rid of foes. Throwing a stink bomb will trap foes in an opaque cloud of smoke that devours their health. This can be both a distraction and a weapon.
Best Fortnite OG Distraction: Boogie Bomb
If you want a more unique, humiliating way of getting rid of enemies, there is the Boogie Bomb. Landing this grenade will cause foes to begin dancing, leaving them completely vulnerable for a few seconds. While not as practical as a Stink Bomb or Pump Shotgun, I find it is is fun and satisfying nonetheless. Especially if you have allies around.
Most Unique Fortnite OG Equipment: Grappler
Lastly, the most unique of the Fortnite OG weapons, as well as one of the most unusual overall, is the Grappler. While Epic added many mobility tools ,such as jetpacks and Spidey’s webs, the original was the Grapper. Fire it at a wall, and you will fling yourself in that direction. It’s quite handy for dodging or reaching a new area.
As always, there are more weapons on their way to the game, but familiarizing yourself with these should give you a head start.
