There are a couple of big launches in Japan this week and we’ll start with PokĂ©mon X and PokĂ©mon Y. The Nintendo 3DS PokĂ©mon games are off to a strong start with over 1.26 million pre-orders.
Sony will release the PlayStation Vita 2000 this week and a line up of budget Vita Greatest Hits including Soul Sacrifice and Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational. On top of that, Grand Theft Auto V makes its debut in Japan too. The game got a perfect 40 from Famitsu and the PlayStation 3 version is #1 on Amazon Japan’s best seller list today, beating out both PokĂ©mon games and Monster Hunter 4. Not that big of a surprise since Grand Theft Auto games tend to do well in Japan. Capcom helped bring the GTA series over too until Rockstar Japan set up shop.
