Watch – Contrast standard Echochrome on the PSP

This article is over 16 years old and may contain outdated information

Earlier builds of the PSP version of Echochrome indicated it would be contrast reversed with a black background and blocks drawn with white lines. The final version is on the horizon in Japan and the most recent trailer shows a PSP playing Echochrome with a white background. Not really a big deal, but it’s a notable change.

The clip goes through the five subjective laws that govern the world of Echochrome, which were shown in playable form at TGS 2007. Canvas mode is one of the brand new things to see. In this mode players can create their own Echochrome levels and share them through an ad hoc connection. Sounds neat and I’m quite curious to see how this compares to the PlayStation 3 version that comes out on the same day.
