If you’ve ever wondered if game creators get lost in their own games it seems that the answer is yes. Yes, they do. For a demonstration, take a look at the video above, in which Matt White, the guy creating the dark sci-fi action platformer Ghost Song, get completely lost and even die (!) in his own game.

To his credit, the part of the game he is demonstrating are the bug tunnels, which are completely optional. And, as he explains in the video, the bug tunnels “are by design confusing and dark,” meaning that you’re supposed to get lost in them, really.

Once he does find his way, you’ll get to see a couple of intense fights with the larger bugs you’ll find in those murky tunnels – Matt genuinely struggles to beat them. And also make sure to watch the scene that starts from 19:00 onwards when Matt enters underwater tunnels to some dreamlike music, finding the scattershot weapon from a dead guy called Ted.
