Namco Bandai is adapting the short anime series Afro Samurai into a PlayStation 3 / Xbox 360 video game. Samuel L. Jackson returns to do the voice of Afro and RZA from Wu-Tang is providing the soundtrack. The music supposedly plays a role in the game since enemies move to RZAs beats. In contrast Namco Bandai’s other hip-hop samurai game, Samurai Champloo, fused music into the gameplay too. Changing the soundtrack switched your combo tree. Grasshopper Manufacture developed Samurai Champloo while Afro Samurai is homegrown care of Namco Bandai Games America.

The first trailer doesn’t show much combat, which sounds like the core of the game, but you can see how the world is transformed into 3D. Like the show there will be plenty of dismemberments when Afro Samurai arrives in the fall. Fact: dismembering fellow enemies is actually cited as a feature for the Afro Samurai game.
