Back in March 2018, Sonic Powered’s Waku Waku Sweets: Happy Sweets Making made a surprise debut on the Nintendo 3DS in North America and Europe, over four years after its Japanese release. Now, a Nintendo Switch version of the game is in the works. It is called Waku Waku Sweets: Amai Okashi ga Dekiru Kana?, which basically means Waku Waku Sweets: Can You Make Candy?, and plays like the Cooking Mama games.

The official website for Waku Waku Sweets: Can You Make Candy? lists it as being a single player game with a Summer 2018 release window. Like the original game, our heroine will be learning to make various desserts for people in a shop. It seems the game will retain the Nintendo 3DS version’s ability to make spare sweets and share them with people around town to boost relationships. One feature noted on the website that was not present in the Nintendo 3DS game is the ability to change the lead character’s clothes. The shop in the handheld version only allowed you to acquire new variations of recipes and furniture for the heroine’s home.

Waku Waku Sweets: Can You Make Candy? will come to the Nintendo Switch in Japan in Summer 2018. Waku Waku Sweets: Happy Sweets Making is available worldwide.
